My name is Bernadette and I am a new Dakota speaker. So far this year we’ve been showing the kids different kinds of animals, and how to say them in Dakota, we also talked about colors and numbers. We will be talking about winter clothing, and singing new songs in the next week.

Hau mitakuyepi.  My name is Jarydd Boston and I just started working in the classroom last week.  So far things are great.  We have been studying wamanica (animals) and their owe (tracks).  To conclude last week we had a “Friday Fun Day” where the kids had popcorn and watched “Berenstain Bears” in Lakota.  We are starting our “Ice and Snow” week now.  We will be painting with ice cubes, making patterns in melting ice, and emphasizing proper winter clothing.  Check the photo section of the website in the weeks to come.
