Enrollment
There is no need for previous learning of Dakota or Ojibwe.
Your child will learn the language as a group while they learn skills and subjects they will need to become kindergarten ready. Joining the program will increase your child’s positive self identity, self esteem, creativity, and other skills that helps increase their critical thinking, mental flexibility and sensitivity to others.
There is no need to worry about your child’s English being affected.
The skills learned in the second language are available for using and learning in the first language and vice versa. Children who attend are found to be testing higher than those who are not in an immersion class.
